Our Team's Favorite Trend for the Holidays & How to rock it

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Happy (almost) holiday season, ladies!
Velvet is the perfect addition to your holiday collection and, this time of year just so happens to be my favorite time to break out some velvet dresses from my wardrobe. A lot of the time, velvet can feel like a very dressy or formal thing to wear. You can easily make your living room feel like a castle just by adding a little bit of this lush fabric to the room. But, not all of us are looking to go into a ballroom anytime soon. Luckily for us, there are some super easy ways to dress it down (especially while we’re all stuck at home). One thing I like to do is make the luxurious fabric a little more edgy by adding fishnet tights underneath. You could also use plain tights or tights with a burnout pattern! On top, I like to add my cropped faux leather jacket for a little extra warmth and pizazz. Jewelry is another great way to dress an outfit up or down. Since the fabric of the dress itself is pretty eye catching, I like to wear simple jewelry like a long pendant. If you’re wearing a colored velvet like me, I like to stick with neutral tones for any additional items to be sure that I am not taking away from the depth of the color.
Hope you enjoyed this little peak into my holiday closet! Have fun styling your own velvet looks!

Hey Fashology! I am so excited to share with you all one of my velvet pieces! I love wearing velvet, especially when the holidays are around the corner! I think velvet screams holiday season. I have this velvet kimono that I have been waiting to break out of my closet. I love this kimono because of the floral detailing, it makes this piece so unique. I paired my kimono with a tan ribbed turtleneck to compliment the colors of the floral print. I also wore high-waisted jeans, and my tan booties to match! A kimono like this is great to experiment with, you can either dress it up or down. This outfit would be perfect for Thanksgiving..well maybe not the high-waisted jeans!

Hello Fashology Fam! I can’t even believe that Thanksgiving is next week! 2020 so holidays are obviously not the usual festivities but, we can continue to make the best of it. One way I like to inject an ounce of normalcy in my life is simply by getting dressed. Velvet is a super easy yet comfy way to dress for the holidays. I am obsessed with this dress I got from Scout & Molly in Lynnfield last year! It’s a wrap style featuring velvet burnout meaning some areas of the dress are sheer while the velvet is solid. It also includes a black slip. I pair mine with tights & my Dr.Martens! This wrap dress can also be worn simalary like the kimono Cydni has highlighted! Whatever you are doing & whoever you are spending it with I hope you enjoy. The Fashology team is sending you love! We are so thankful for you! XO
