What on Earth is Cost per Wear?

Every purchase something and only wear it once? Now every time you pass it in your closet a sense of buyer's remorse just infects your conscious. Cost per wear is a wonderful tool to prevent this feeling! When making purchases especially apparel purchases you should feel good about them. You just bought this fabulous new piece that flatters your figure, will be an excellent addition to your wardrobe, and you'll wear it over and over again. Well when out shopping this isn't always the case. I myself have been an offender of the impulse buy. Not all impulse buys are created equal but most times they are the purchases we tend to regret.

Let's cut to the chase. Cost per wear is taking the cost of an item divided by the amount of times you plan on wearing it. Take the faux leather skirt for example, I purchased it last year on sale for $20. Now I have worn it both this winter season and last, it has become a staple in my wardrobe. But for the sake of argument say I wore this skirt 5 times (which I have worn this far more than 5 times), it has only cost me $4 each time I have worn it!

Retail/Times Worn= Cost Per Wear

These boots are another great example! If you have been following the blog you probably noticed that I prop these often. It is a really cool and easy to understand concept. To prevent regretful purchases I invite you to exercise the cost per wear strategy. Before shopping I would suggest going in with an idea of what you need opposed to going in blind sided and just purchasing things you "like". Take a look at your closet before you go out shopping to see what you'd like to add. These practices will help decrease the buyers remorse feeling.

Well till next time dolls.
