Confessions of a Blogger

1. I wear my sunglasses 90% of the time.

Not sure if you notice or not but I am pretty much always wearing my cool girl shades. My main photographer is always like, "Can you just not wear them?".  I wear them to of course keep the sun out of my eyes while taking pics. But I must confess I also wear them because I have no clue what to do with my eyes & I'd by squinting in every single picture because I am super awkward.

2. I try to photograph a month of looks at one time

I work with a couple different photographers but Lauren is the main one I use. She is actually one of my besties & my hub's cousin. When Lauren & I shoot we try to bang out like a month worth of pictures. We both work full time & life is just too crazy to get together every week.

3. Typically I write late at night or early in the morning

As I mentioned prior I work full time but I'm also a wife & fur mum. I have a life like everyone else. I find that I typically wake up early like 5am-ish to write my posts or I'll do it right before bed.

4. I am growing organically

In the blogging community you can pay for likes, comments, & followers on social media. I have not done that. I chose to grow organically which means that I spend a lot of time on social media. Liking, commenting, & following other people's posts & engaging with my own following. It is actually a lot more work than you think.

5. How much time I spend on social media is ridiculous

I spend a boat load of time on social media. Literally I get up catch up on social media, at lunch during work, before I go to bed, & any chance I can get. Social media is the main source of promoting the blog. To gain a following you need to engage.

6. How Awkward is a photo shoot

Photo shoots can be wicked awkward. I honestly don't like being in front of the camera but I have to in order to effectively communicate each blog post. I blink, I stand weird, & I talk too much during shoots. Not to mention I am always changing in my car which is uncomfortable due to the tight space & trying not to give passerby's a show. Don't even get me started on shooting pics in the winter. It is the absolute worst, imagine trying not to look cold in the freezing MA winter weather. Photo shoots can get pretty weird.

7. Do I get paid?

I am defiantly working on monetizing the blog. To date I've only had one officially paid post but I do receive a lot of free merchandise.

Well fash dolls that is all I have for you today. Feel free to connect on social media or submit your questions to gigi@fash-ology.com.

Stay Sassy & God Bless!
