Hey Boos! Sorry to say it but summer is almost over! For me and some of you that means returning to school and for others that means the days of sandals and tanks will be coming to an end. Luckily September is still warm which brings me to my post today about transitional dressing. September in Boston is always a struggle for me. I’ve been buying Fall clothes since the beginning of July and I don’t feel right about showing up to my first day of class in shorts, sandals, and a tank top.
The outfit pictured above I think is the perfect way to start off “Fall” the right way. Even on a hot day my black linen jumpsuit is extremely comfortable and easy to throw on for school. The ruffle detailed sleeve reminds me of summer as well as the cropped leg but something about having pants on makes it much more appropriate for the time of year and for me class. Any jumpsuit is a fantastic way to transition into the new season. Another great option would be a midi dress with sandals. Offering more coverage but a light material would be enough comfort for those warm days in the beginning. I paired my jumpsuit with a pair of Toms espadrilles to really transition the look, but if it had been warmer I would pair with a sandal. These are looks that can be worn all summer long and transition you right into fall.
When it starts to get into long sleeve weather but still not too cold I like to wear turtle neck long sleeves under certain dresses or overalls and switch my shoe option over to a boot or sneaker. That is always my favorite time of the year to dress for because I love the layering look but enjoy not having to wear a heavy coat on top of it like you do in the winter time.
Don’t worry we still have plenty of summer left to enjoy, but it is time to start thinking about your fall wardrobe!
See you soon!
Jill
