How to Utilize a Belt When Styling Sweaters

Happy fall ya’ll! But, seriously how cute is this little farm stand?! Chelsea, our photographer, suggested we take a spontaneous trip to Wilson Farm after our latest brand shoot & I’m glad we did! It’s never a dull moment when you are shooting pictures, some man literally came up to use & got in the shot. Fear not, I had my mask in hand when needed.

Anyway, it’s no secret that sweaters are a staple to any fall wardrobe. I had never been a pullover sweater person until I met this v-neck sweater from a boutique that was once in Wellesley, MA. Sweaters can be super versatile, you can dress them up or dress them down rock them with denim, skirts, or even dresses! I am digging this new way of styling a sweater, it’s more flouncy & creates shape.

Want to get his flounced look? It’s easy!

  1. Choose one of your skinnier belts in width.

  2. Wrap & buckle the belt over the sweater at your natural waist.

  3. Blouse the sweater over the belt making sure the belt is covered by the sweater.

This styling trick will work over skits & dresses to give you another option to maximize your wardrobe. I completed this look with a a corduroy skirt, hat, booties, & scarf from the Filos Box. Not only does this look scream fall, it is tonal which has been a trend for a few seasons. Tonal dressing is the act of wearing different shades of the same color.
